planting grounds

I feel like something beautiful has grown from within me
A seed planted deep inside the lonely pit of my stomach
rooting into my knees and shins
it digs and digs into my toes where it rests comfortably now
its leaves brushed past my ribs as the stem of this plant inched taller and taller
they extended outwards towards my arms
enormous, veiny, ridged leaves
they point towards my fingertips, where they sway slightly at each passing breeze
the bud of the plant, the young flower,
made a lump in my throat
it pushed through and bloomed
the flower yawned a little as it stretched out in my brain
its petals caressing my skull, tickling at my ears

I can't open my mouth for too long, however;
the plant could decide to slip off my tongue and escape
